Use the context to understand the definition of the phrasal verbs.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>All the phrasal verbs are related to GOING OUT (to a bar\/club etc.).<\/em><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>\u2013 Hey Sara, are you going out tonight?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u2013 Hi Michael!<\/strong> I didn\u2019t have plans, but I\u2019d love to. Maybe we can check out that new club that opened?<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u2013 I don\u2019t really like clubbing. What about that party that Jaime is having at his house? I hear there\u2019s a lot of people going.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u2013 That sounds great, I\u2019ve always wanted to ask him out. Do we need to dress up?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u2013 No, it\u2019s not fancy dress. Why don\u2019t we meet up at 9pm? I can come from work.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u2013 I\u2019ll be there a bit earlier, but I\u2019m happy to hang around until you get there.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u2013 Great, I\u2019ll see you then!<\/strong><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>So, what do you think the definitions of the phrasal verbs are?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Look at the definitions and examples to see if you were correct!<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Go out:<\/strong> To go on a night out to a bar or club etc.<br \/>\n<em>Sara and Michael were talking about where to go that night.<\/em><\/li>\n<li><strong>Check out:<\/strong> To look at something or go somewhere for the first time.<br \/>\n<em>Tara asked if Michael wanted to see what the new club was like.<\/em><\/li>\n<li><strong>Ask out:<\/strong> To ask someone to go on a date with you (usually for dinner or drinks).<br \/>\n<em>Sara is interested in asking Jaime if he will go out with her.<\/em><\/li>\n<li><strong>Dress up:<\/strong> To wear a costume or a uniform (usually to a fancy dress party or at Halloween).<br \/>\n<em>Sara wanted to know if it was a costume party.<\/em><\/li>\n<li><strong>Meet up:<\/strong> To meet with someone at a specific place or time.<br \/>\n<em>Michael suggests that they meet each other at 9pm.<\/em><\/li>\n<li><strong>Hang around:<\/strong> To wait in a location without doing anything in particular.<br \/>\n<em>Tara was happy to wait around the area until Michael arrived.<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Read the following dialog.
